CHANGING TIME ZONE IN CENTOS 7 / REDHAT 7

Changing timezone in Centos 7 / Redhat 7 is an easy and straightforward task.

We can use the timedatectl command to change the timezones.

In this tutorial, We will change the timezone from CST to IST.

Change TimeZone

Let us first check the date using the command:

#date

You will see the output something like this:

 

 

 

As per the above output, My system is configured with Central standard timezone.

If you wish to list all the available timezone.

#timedatectl list-timezones

You can filter the timezone as per your need:

#timedatectl list-timezones |grep Asia

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Changing TimeZone

If you want to change the timezone to Asia/Kolkata, Just type the below command.

#timedatectl set-timezone Asia/Kolkata
